The War Memorials and All Saints Parish Church

Home>Activities> War Memorials

The war memorial of All Saints church was poorly positioned. The names of the fallen plaques were not mounted, but positioned under the altar.  The memorial of the deconsecrated Holy Trinity church lay propped against a wall.

At 7.30, November 8th 2014 there was a commemoration event featuring the Loughborough Singers performing Karl Jenkins’ ‘The Armed Man’.

In January 2015 the memorials were repositioned on the north wall.  There was be a talk by the conservator.

On March 21st 2015 Charnwood Orchestra will performed a rededication concert including Vaughan Williams’ 2nd Symphony.

A Centenary Book of Remembrance will be produced in 2015 and all the names of the fallen researched by volunteers.  A working draft can be found here.
